Luna Sola Therapeutic Yoga creates an individualized remedy that focuses on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health for each client. The specialized plan may contain movement, mindfulness, meditation, relaxation, breathing exercises, self study and intuitive healing to help you relax, relieve stress and manage underlying conditions or symptoms.
Luna Sola can help heal and empower where other methods have fallen short. It can help establish or develop your existing yoga and meditation practice, as well as amplify the effectiveness of other healing modalities such as physical or mental health therapies.
The plans we create together can help ease chronic pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, lack of motivation, trauma, disordered eating, poor self esteem, life transitions, grief, body dismorphia, lack of direction, hyperactivity, low sex drive, disembodiment, injury, ptsd, addiction, or anything that lowers the vibration, and interrupts the flow of vitality.
We can also focus on building a deeper and richer meditation discipline, a more well rounded yoga practice, or we can focus on mentoring in the areas of yoga teaching, creative expression or embodiment.
Clients will frequently come with multiple goals that are ranging across the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual experience of being human.
The first time we meet we will spend most of our time chatting about you. We will narrow in on your specific goals, and also your strengths and your struggles. We will create a blueprint of our first plan, which you will get via email after our first session. The plan will include all sorts of tools from the tradition of yoga, and it will be customized to you.
Sessions that follow will be spent chatting about how the plan is working, what needs tweaking, and how you are feeling in your life. We will also talk a lot about the yoga tools we are using, so that you can understand and employ them in your life for years to come.
Most sessions happen in my office on the ground floor of Village Yoga. You get comfy on a vintage gold velvet couch, and we talk. Sometimes, if movement or sound healing are a big part of the session we will move into the big studio room. You will always know ahead of time what to expect!
I am a big fan of comfort, so be comfy! That being said, if you are fitting the session in during your work day, no problem. You will only need yoga clothes if we decide we are moving a lot, which we will decide ahead of time!
The tradition of yoga is ancient. It is a procedural ethical theory that aims to reduce suffering in the world. Movement (like downward dog and other poses) are just one small part of it. There are maps of the human experience, there are breathing techniques, there are meditation practices, self study techniques, and lots of different methods to explore and amplify life force, and self healing. A Luna Sola session picks out the right tool for the right job, and works to empower each client for life.
I developed Luna Sola Therapeutic Yoga out of a desire to work more specifically with the healing techniques I have been studying for my entire life.
I found a passion for yoga first because of my own chronic pain and mobility issues. At just 12 I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. Rapidly I discovered that yoga made me stronger and more mobile, but also calmer and more comfortable in my body. I stayed ahead of inflammation. I created a body that enjoyed being alive.
It wasn't just my body though. I was calmer and more comfortable in my emotions, my thoughts, and my sense of purpose. In the calmness of mind, body and soul I felt attuned to something deeply healing, and ever present. My intuition that I had since childhood grew, and began to weave into my work. I felt a call to continue to seek education and experiences that would help me become a conduit of the traditions that healed me.
I have taught yoga for over a decade now. I have run teacher trainings, created programs, accomplished advanced certifications, and opened an award winning studio..and I have also been a young mom, an animal lover, an artist, a cleaning woman, a bartender, a nanny, a photographer, a medium, a gardener and an author. To me, its all a part of the training. Its all yoga. Its all practice. My practice is life, and that is what I bring to Luna Sola. I believe that life is the creative quest for self actualization. Through the darkness and the light, the pain and ecstasy, the rupture and the rapture we can find attunement to that deep, ever present inner calm.
