Vinyasa

This style is all about breath and fluid movement. Vinyasa can be a workout, but all of our vinyasa classes are modifiable to meet you where you are. This is a moderate to fast paced style that will lengthen and strengthen. 

Classes weekly:

This style focuses on a balance of warming and cooling. Muscles will be stretched and strengthened. Techniques of meditation, breath work and knowledge of anatomy will be utilized to find depth in the practice. These classes vary in their challenge level, but all are modifiable to meet you where you are. Classes typically include a center

Classes typically include a centering, warm up, standing and balancing poses, cooldown and final relaxation.

Yin/ Restorative

These two styles are different but both work with cooling and calming. Both styles are wonderful for chronic pain and chronic stress. 

Yin works with props and long held postures to increase elasticity in the tissues. There is a good amount of sensation in a yin practice, but it can be modified to any level.

Restorative yoga is about downgrading the nervous system. In a restorative class the ambition is to calm and cool. Sensation is minimal and the goal is to soften and relax into your body. Restorative classes at the studio vary from very still to slow flow like movement that helps unclench before rest.

Kundalini uses specific movements, breathing techniques, chanting, and mantras to heal destructive patterns, strengthen our endurance, clarify our purpose and embody our power. These classes are modifiable for all levels, and typically include the use of major muscle groups, and the sound of your voice.

Open Class Descriptions

Fortify

An all levels class designed to make your body and mind feel stronger and more flexible. Turn up the love, turn down the nonsense. Every class we will peek at something deeper than our bones. Sometimes it will be yogic philosophy, sometimes it will be a quote from a classic rock song, or a poem. This class is meant to be a reminder that you are alive, so you should feel like it. Classic all levels offerings. Arm balances to restorative options offered for most poses. Come as you are, leave feeling fortified. 

Yin

A slow paced style of yoga incorporating principles of Chinese medicine, utilizing long held postures to increase circulation, improve flexibility, calm and balance the mind and body, improve joint mobility, balance internal organs and release fascia. 

Dhatu

An active all levels class focused on helping you build, and experience connection within your body. The class will begin with an energetic flow embedded with principles of alignment and hands on guidance (optional). Each week we will workshop a different posture, enabling you to feel the deeper benefits it has to offer, rooting you more securely in your practice. 

Dynamic Sequence

A playful and engaging sequence of vinyasa style movements originating from intelligently activated alignment to build playfully into a peak posture, followed by yin inspired long holds to create healthy and more resilient tissue that looks, feels, and functions at its best. Become stronger, more fluid and more flexible while breathing deeply into your own dynamic potential. 

Fortify Flow

A  balanced flow class, with opportunites to build heat, and strength. Every class will begin with centering and breath work, and will end with sound healing and relaxation. This class encourages life force, joy and self healing. Many classes will include yoga philosophy to guide and inspire as we unlock our self love, and burn away the BS. Come as you are, leave feeling fortified. 

Cosmic Flow

Cosmic Flow focuses on astrological events and planetary alignment to intuitively guide the movement for class. Some days our bodies need more restorative rest and some days they need more playful movement. So often we look to horoscopes as guidance for our days, why not use them as guidance for our movement. 

Unstuck

Removing the rigidness; a vinyasa-based all-levels class focused on building awareness of each part of the body and how each muscle serves us; and improving mobility and strength.

Awakening Kundalini all levels

Kundalini yoga is a unique and exceptionally powerful yoga technique like no other. Use your body, your discipline, your breath and your voice to align yourself to your purpose. Leave feeling powerful, strong and clear. 

Vinyasa Flux

A vinyasa-style class where we challenge assumptions made in vinyasa-stye classes! Every class builds to familiar yoga poses and sequences but begins with very intentional warm-ups where we will take the time for exploration - of how the body moves, of how the body feels, of all the "do"s and do "not"s of yoga, and of what you want out of your yoga practice. Classes focus on a combination of mobility and strengthening sequences to prepare the body for whatever it is you are looking for.

Release and Restore

Begin this grounding and nurturing practice with gentle movement and breath work, followed by fully supported long held restorative poses. Allow yourself to settle into deep relaxation, release tension and calm the nervous system. 

Flow and Glow

An early morning flow, that opens up your heart, strengthens and stretches your mind and body, and turns the light up on your glow for the day.

All Levels Kundalini yoga & meditation

Kundalini Yoga & Meditation classes are all levels and open to beginners to advanced practitioners.  Kundalini Yoga is an ancient technology.  We use specific movement sets, breathing patterns and mantra to lift our consciousness, heal our minds and bodies and operate at our fullest potential.  All are welcome!" 

Ease In

An  all levels gentle flow that incorporates grounding energy, stretch work, and breath work to create a beautiful base for awakening your muscles and opening your heart. Receive tools to connect you to your body and ease into the weekend with soft movement and a fun cheerful vibe. 

Mixed Healing Arts

a Mixed Healing Arts class combining qigong, hatha yoga, meditation, relaxation, and five wisdom energies. Gentle movement is paired with self awareness for a refreshing, and centering practice. 

Energy Reset

This is energy medicine! Using the meridians of the body we will balance and release energy in an all levels and accessible way. Leave feeling clearer, more tuned in, and healthier in every way. 

Afternoon Yoga

Some stretch, some strength and some peace of mind for anyone who needs a mid afternoon pick me up! Perfect for educators after school. 

Donation Community Class

A moving meditation class that  is donation based. Give what you can in monetary donations to Village Engaged or in food donations.

strength and Ease

An intuitively sequenced and well balanced practice for your daily subconscious  cleanse. Explore steady movement, along with held standing postures. breathwork and rest. Through intuitively listening to their own needs, this practice is designed to leave practitioners feeling light, grounded and balanced in their bodies and minds. Suitable for all levels.
